FAQ

How much does a marriage green card cost in USCIS fees?

Filing Form I-130 and Form I-485 together in the U.S. costs $2,115 on paper. Adding a work permit (Form I-765) filed with the pending I-485 adds $260, for $2,375 in total. A travel document (Form I-131) has its own fee, which depends on the document.

How much are the USCIS fees for an employment-based green card?

Form I-140 is $715 on paper plus a $600 Asylum Program Fee for a regular employer, Form I-485 is $1,440, and a work permit filed with the pending I-485 is $260: $3,015 in total. Small employers and self-petitioners pay a $300 Asylum Program Fee, and nonprofits pay none.

Why is Form I-131 not in the calculator?

The I-131 fee depends on what you ask for (advance parole, reentry permit, refugee travel document and others) and is listed separately in the fee schedule. Check its amount on the USCIS Fee Calculator before you file.

Is this the official USCIS calculator?

No. It adds up the amounts in the official fee schedule (Form G-1055) that we have checked. USCIS runs its own Fee Calculator on uscis.gov; a wrong fee gets a filing rejected, so confirm there before you pay.
